Well, if he'll play in Brazil, he'll probably swing by OZ soon enough!

7/15/10

Hey JB! Very impressed with your site. Still desperate to get Jonathan down to OZ for a show or 2 (a dozen would be better!) Wayne.

The Modern Lovers were one of the bands which played when Phil Kauffman spread Gram Parsons ashes at Joshua tree. The same Phil Kauffman spent time in jail with Manson and eventually released some of his records..

Jonathan told me he swa the Velvet Underground live about 150 times.

Supposodly there is a bootleg of JR in the woods singing songs. Does anyone have any information about this?

6/29/10

Back around 1976 I had tickets to see JR & the ML in Pennsylvania but the night of the show it was cancelled. That was 35 years ago and I never got the chance to see him again.

The first JR song I ever heard was Hospital on FM radio around 1976.

Jonathan was one of the last people to see Graham Parsons alive

When I Jonathan was released in 1992 in the back of the cd booklet was an address to get in touch with JR. I wrote to JR and several weeks later he sent me a postcard !!!!!

There were thoughts about JR hosting a children's show in the early 80's and "That Summer Feeling" was to be a potential theme song

5/13/10

At a show in the 90's, some older kids asked if they could get in a show without a ticket, and Jonathan - knowing that people try this scheme all the time - decided to sing a song for them on the spot instead. So he sang them some song, and then went on to perform. Before he could play any songs though, he told the audience that he had a confession to make. He should have let those kids in! And if anyone knew where the kids were to let them in! I heard this from a live recording, told by JR. It was pretty entertaining

One time I asked him what he thought about "Jonathan Sings", and he said that he loved the songs, but didn't like the way they came out on the record.
